About the Atelier

You deserve a designer who understands what it means to be seen.

Before you trust someone with how you present yourself to the world, you want to know one thing: do they understand what it means to carry a story?

Victoria Ijeoma Nwogu understands.

She spent over two decades at the United Nations advocating for a single idea — that every human being deserves to be seen. That dignity is not negotiable. That culture is not a costume you put on when convenient. Those are the same principles she brings to every garment her team creates for you.

The Name

A name that carries a family legacy.

Vikkie Oh is not a random name. It comes from Okolie — Victoria's maiden name. Her father's name. The name of a man who believed his daughter could become anything. He did not live long enough to see just how right he was. Her mother carried forward the vision.

When she chose a name for this brand, she did not reach for something French, Italian, or abstractly elegant. She reached for something personal. Something that honours where she came from, even as she builds something entirely new.

That decision tells you everything you need to know about the hands your wardrobe is in.

The Turning Point

From human rights to heritage fashion.

Victoria did not start as a fashion designer. She started as someone who spent decades in rooms where the stakes were human rights, justice, and inclusion. Somewhere in the middle of it all, a quieter dream kept knocking.

She had always loved fashion. Not as decoration — as a language. Growing up in Nigeria, she watched the women around her use Ankara, bold storied wax prints, to communicate who they were without saying a word. That stayed with her.

In September 2022, a professional rejection from a potential UN assignment became a signal. Victoria had spent decades lending her strength to institutions. Now it was time to build something of her own. Vikkie Oh Atelier Ltd. was established in Nairobi in 2022.

She was living in Nairobi — had been for over a decade. This was home. And this is where she planted the seed.

The Brand Promise

Your heritage is not something to save for special occasions.

Your African identity is not a weekend outfit. It is something worth wearing into the boardroom, onto the plane, through the school gates, and across every room where your presence matters. That is what Vikkie Oh Atelier is built to make possible.
